There are three grantmaking committees within the Goldsmiths’ Company Charity. These are the Charity Committee, the Education Committee and the Wardens’ Committee. In addition, on behalf of the Charity the Goldsmiths’ Centre makes grants to Trade-related projects and collaborations. Information on these can be found here.
The Charity Committee makes two sizes of grants. Large (up to £30,000) and Small (up to £5,000). Following a strategic review in 2016 the main focus areas are Prisoner Resettlement, Youth and an Ageing Population. The Small Grants are awarded to charities working along similar themes but with a slightly broader remit. For guidelines and details of how to apply see here.
The Education Committee is proactive in its grantmaking and unsolicited applications are not currently accepted. Grants are directed towards primary and secondary education, the improvement of STEAM subjects, community engagement and the wellbeing of teachers.
The Wardens’ Grants are directed towards discrete projects predominantly focused on support for: the advancement of the trade of goldsmithing and silversmithing; existing military associations; wider causes in the City of London; and strategic partnerships with cultural institutions. Unsolicited applications will not be accepted.

Please read the guidelines carefully before applying for a grant. We will soon be publishing a ‘good application guide’ which we hope will be of help to prospective applicants.
